Tim Chernikoff
Tim Chernikoff is a master of piano powered jazz artistry. The jazz pianist and composer has been existing on the world stage as a strong voice, forging a musical identity through dialogue with the jazz traditions of bebop and swing while remaining current in the modern world of music, brandishing a compelling original act which, according to two-time Grammy Award winning pianist Taylor Eigsti, “takes the listener on a fascinating and crazy adventure every time.”
The up-and-coming artist has has traversed the US performing with world class musicians.
With academic footprints in the West Coast (Stanford Jazz Workshop), Southwest (North Texas) and East Coast (Manhattan School of Music) regions of the United States, Chernikoff has had a diversity of educational and professional experiences. With early sights set on honing the craft of group improvised music during his college studies,
Chernikoff took his education into the academy and onto the streets, taking lessons from Stefan Karsson, Dan Haerle, Taylor Eigsti, Phil Markowitz and Gary Dial; while gigging and sitting in with many of the great musicians in each area, including Adonis Rose, Quamon Fowler, John Shifflett, Jason Lewis, Vince Lateano, Brad Leali, Shelley Carrol, Christian McBride, Dayna Stephens, Roy Hargrove, and many others. Throughout these experiences he was always learning lessons in the moment and absorbing the music.
Chernikoff’s culminating musical voice could be summed up by the Progressive aspect as having ‘Hints of Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett and Herbie Hancock”, which also notes that he “Attacks the piano with pace and confidence…it’s clear [that] Chernikoff is a hugely proficient player.”
In 2025, Chernikoff takes his music to new vicissitudes, drawing from his recent experiences to create new adventures with his dynamic trio and taking them on the road across the US and Europe. As his musical adventure is taken to new audiences, his music will be unveiled along the way and in late 2026 his next album will be unveiled to the public.
